Animals

Animals by Garima Sahu

God created humans and animals to live on earth. He said that God gave man a higher status than animals. The great American poet Walt Whitman believed that animals were greater than humans. The poet praised some of the characteristics of non-human animals. He made observations about animals and humans through his poem "Animals".

Walt Whitman loves animal company. The poet wants to live among animals because according to him animals are calm and self-sufficient. They are seven about their circumstances, not seven. They are always satisfied and do their duty to God. Animals always show their love and respect for humans. Animals live a life of contentment and peace. He has no passion for keeping things. They show no respect for others. Also, they do not even honor their thousand old descendants. Dissatisfaction and happiness are the same for them.

Man loves material things. The man wakes up at night. They cry for the mistake they made. Eventually, they lose their temper at the trifles. The animals are very happy. They do not take their time to discuss their duties to God as humans do. He sees that animals lack the qualities of love, silence, kindness, unselfishness, honesty, patience, and empathy.

The poet has an intense desire to learn from animals. There is no untruth in them. The poet is amazed at her quality. Even if he leaves them reckless, he still wants to get them. He feels that man’s life is full of stress, frustration, anxiety, dissatisfaction. Therefore, he wants to stay away from living with other humans. He wants to be in the company of animals for good because he thinks he can find true happiness in animals. Finally, he wants to have relationships with animals. Thus it is a summary of Walt Whitman's poem "Animals".
